TC Industries Mill Products Division provides demagnetizing for steel bar product.
The procedure for demagnetizing (also known as degaussing) a piece of steel to remove its residual magnetism consists of repeatedly applying a reversing, and gradually reduced, imposed magnetic force
Typically, heating a piece of magnetized iron or steel to above the austenitic transformation temperature (above the Curie temperature) will demagnetize it. Subsequent rotary straightening can produce some residual magnetism in steels, typically between 5 and 25 gauss.
Our bundle de-mag machine can reduce magnetism down to +/- 10 gauss. If for some reason, TC Industries has introduced magnetism in the bars, we perform this operation at no charge to you.
